August 21: A SEA LAUNCH Zenit 3SL rocket to orbit the Koreasat 5 satellite for communications and military use in a space shot to be staged from the Odyssey Launch Platform atop the equatorial waters of the Pacific Ocean. 11:27 p.m. EDT (0327 Aug. 22 GMT).

NET August 27: NASA's STS-115 shuttle flight aboard the Atlantis orbiter is slated to deliver a new truss segment and solar arrays to the International Space Station ISS in a launch to be staged from Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Launch window runs through Sept. 18. 4:25-4:35 p.m. EDT (2025-2035 GMT).

August 31: NASA's STEREO mission to launch two solar observatories to generate three dimensional images of the Sun to launch atop a Delta 2 rocket from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida. 3:12-3:14 p.m. EDT (1912-1914 GMT) or 4:20-4:35 p.m. EDT (2020-2035 GMT).

 September 10: Japan H-2A rocket to boost the nation's third Information Gathering Satellite (IGS) DELAYED from Tanegashima Space Center.

 September 14: The 14th astronaut crew to the International Space Station (ISS) will launch from Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan on a two-day trip to the orbital platform. 1:44 a.m. EDT (0544 GMT).

 September 14: A Delta 2 rocket is slated to launch the NAVSTAR Global Positioning System (GPS) satellite GPS 2R-M2 in a space shot staged from Pad 17 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida.

 September 22: A Japanese M-5 booster rocket to launch the Solar-B Sun-watching observatory from Uchinoura Space Center. 5:00-6:00 p.m. EDT (2100-2200 GMT).

 October 7: The European Space Agency's MetOp-A meteorological satellite to launch atop a Russian-built Soyuz rocket from Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan.

October 18: A Russian-built Soyuz rocket is set to launch the automated supply ship Progress 23 to the restock the International Space Station in a flight to begin at Kazakhstan's Baikonur Cosmodrome.

 November 2: An Atlas 5 rocket to boost a clutch of seven satellites, among them the Orbital Express demonstration vehicle, under the U.S. Air Force's Space Test Program 1 (STP 1) mission to fly from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida.

 November 4: A Delta 4 rocket is slated to loft the Defense Meteorological Satellite Program Program-17 (DMSP-17) in a spaceflight to be staged from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida.

 November 27: NASA's THEMIS spacecraft is set to ride a Delta 2 rocket spaceward in a launch to be staged from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida.

 November 15: An Atlas 5 rocket to loft a classified spy satellite NROL-28 for the U.S. National Reconnaissance Office from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California.

 NET December 14: NASA's STS-116 space shuttle mission to launch the Discovery orbiter toward the International Space Station from Launch Complex-39 at Kennedy Space Center, Florida. 6:55 p.m. EST (2355 GMT).

 December 20: A Russian-built Soyuz rocket is set to launch the automated supply ship Progress 24 to the restock the International Space Station in a flight to begin at Kazakhstan's Baikonur Cosmodrome
